I’ve always been an animal lover and for as long as I can remember, we’ve always kept dogs as our pets. The most number of dogs that we’ve had at home was 8! That’s a lot of dogs……and one of the best times of my life. Also, we had a huge fish pond that my mum made herself. Yes, she did….she dug out a rectangular hole and filled it with foundation of cement and then bricks and finally broken marble to complete it. It was fantastic! And to keep it clean, she used a uv pond filter. She really did a fantastic job! We kept Japanese carp and some other fish – cant remember what they were but because of the invasion of frogs and then based on the food cycle, along came loads of snakes to eat the frogs coz they turned mum’s pond into their breeding ground. =.= In the end, she got fed up of the frog spawn and then the snakes that she broke the whole thing up. That was really sad but what can you do?
Anyway, as much as I would love to have a dog now, our unit doesn’t allow for it. Plus Ted is allergic to animal fur so looks like it will be a big no-no for a long while. You can’t even keep/feed birds, albeit wild ones! But we still did and it sort of got us into a bit of trouble. Needless to say that Ted wasn’t impressed at all. In fact, he was pretty up set about it really.
So now we’re thinking about getting that fish tank that Ted got me for my birthday some time ago. It’s one of those that hang up on the wall. I think it would look fab once it’s up and I can just imagine how excited Arianna will be to see all the fish swimming around!
I’m pretty excited myself but am a little worried as to how you’d go about cleaning the tank out without making a mess in the living room! *scratches head* I’ll have to sit down on that and figure it out somehow….
