Fly me to the moon…

Ok, maybe not to the moon but just to Kulim will do! :)
YES, WE ARE GOING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!!!! YAY!!!! *dancing around like a hysterical woman with arms in the air and hair let down*
As I mentioned in my other blog, spending Christmas in Sydney was ok but the difference was that it has always been treated as a private family function where as in Kulim, the whole family comes together and really party to the max! We always come together to celebrate so it’s the one thing I really miss living in Sydney. Hence, this trip back will be and is going to be just awesome. I’ve missed 2 Christmasses and I’m just glad that I won’t have to miss it a 3rd time.
Although I am uber excited about this trip, I have my worries as well. Because of my currently condition and when we go down, my sis will be coming up to help me, as usual – I couldn’t thank her more. Makes me feel really dependant on other people actually. I was kind of looking forward to trying to take Arianna down myself before we found out about Pacman but now, definitely scratching the idea. I don’t think I want to be lugging my huge bag and slinging Arianna with a bulging stomach in the way.
Not only that, I am also wondering how I am going to keep her occupied during the flight. Previously, she was tiny enough to sleep in the basinet and was definitely less mobile. Apparently this is no longer the case. She knows she can crawl around and all, and it won’t surprise me if she starts walking pretty soon too. So she is definitely going to be a handful in the plane. Unlike Aida, I do not plan on taking our car seat with us as that would cost us a bomb and extra luggage too. As it is, I’m still comtemplating on whether we should bring the pram or just sewing a sling to lug her around as I already have a pram back in Kulim.
So many things to think about but there is still time to figure this out. I guess the first thing is to actually try and sew that sling to see how she deals with it. No point planning to use the sling if it freaks her out, right? One things for sure, I’ll definitely be bringing all her Night Garden and Wiggles DVDs – I will die standing if I left without them!!*lol*

Wah! Best-nya! So happy for you la. Bring pram if you are going to transit in another airport. If your flight is night flight, a pram will be useful to put her into while she sleeps and you guys wait for the plane. But ar, from my experience, we didn’t get to use the stroller while waiting for our midnight flight to HKG ‘cos the airport intercom/loudspeakers were too loud. It kept Belle awake. The stroller was useful when we transitted at HKG.
Thank goodness your sis will be there to help. If Arianna isn’t walking by Dec, a sling will be helpful. She can carry her using the sling. Again, from my experience, Belle wanted to walk all over the airport. So, you should play by the ear.

vien – a lot to take into consideration. i suspect she will be walking a tad by dec la but we cant be sure. would like to sling her as the pram would be a hassle. same like belle, i dont think arianna would be comfy with that much noise n a new environment. so will have to ponder on this a bit.
we only bring the car seat cause we hv to pay for her ticket so might as well ler..she is over 2 years old mah.
so jealous of you lah but i also suspect she will be walking by then and want to walk all over. if you going alone, suggest you dont bother with a huge diaper bag or pram..just bring necessary stuff and when time to board, carry her nia. for the sling, you want hip carry like what you see for Ben cause of the tummy, if buncit more, then back carry lor.
i kid you not lah…at this age travel, a bit headache. i am not looking forward to travel with Ben, Ava ok lah she understand now but i find the 8 to 20 months period a bit brutal.

I think u no need to bring pram along as your sis will be there to help u and beside that Kulim also has one oledi. Just bring the necessary things. Looking forward to see you soon.
From my personal experience, I wouldn’t bring a pram along for a direct flight from Sydney to KL. You guys are transiting long ke at KLIA before going north? When we flew Kl to sydney and then to melbourne, we had the pram with us coz we had to check our stuff out before checking back in to fly to melb. Turned out to be damned lucky coz we were stuck in sydney for hours on end. But on the way back from melb to sydney then to kl, we didn’t have the pram and it was fine coz we werent stranded. hubs carried gib whenever he didnt demand to walk around. by december i think arianna would be at that “jalan-jalan jatuh” stage (not running yet la i think, takes a few months till they start running like headless chickens), so don’t weigh yourself down with a bulky stroller la. and yes!!!.. bring on the wiggles and whatnots! having Barney and musical video clips on my mobile really saved us on the way back (coz we traveled during daytime and gib’s not a huge napper!). and u know what… if they wanna roam, let them roam lah. ppl who know gib know that gib really CANNOT sit still, but we survived the flight. so God willing, arianna will do great! ;)

Airlines tickets are really unpredictable. When i was having my tour to europe i tried to find cheap airline tickets to las vegas ny but at that time prices were so high and sometimes we get it for a cheap deal. Last month i booked a few tickets for a very high price even though when I booked 2 months in advance. Again, one of my friend booked his ticket in the same flight on the same date and he got it at a cheaper price. i was so surprised. You know, booking flight tickets is just like gambling. What do you say?
