I’m totally blaming her teething to this current trend of clingy-ness, non-stop grizzling and grumpiness. For the past 2 days, I’ve had to hold her and rock her to sleep for most of her nap times. Although I don’t mind doing this at all, I personally feel that there should be some place I draw the line. I mean, you can hold your baby and rock them up to a certain point and after that, they won’t even let you touch them so even though I am enjoying every moment of her wanting me to hold her and what not, I’m also hoping that this stage won’t last long. I know my arms and butt [from all the swaying la!] are building up in muscle mass, it’s very tiring you know?
Her routine for the last 2 days have been really weird. She is up for only about 1.5 hours and then she wants a nap, not that I’m complaining but it took me awhile to recognise her new pattern. She is happy from the moment she opens her eyes up to after her feed, and then its grizzle time until she goes down for a nap. In the beginning I was worried about her wanting to nap so much but then I read that in other babies who are teething, they don’t want to sleep so I guess this is a blessing in disguise, hence I won’t be complaining.
Today, instead of carrying her and rocking her to sleep, I tried something different. After her bath, I put her on our dining cum change table which she absolutely loves and I do not know why, and she just lay there. I was watching Australia’s Funniest Home Videos and omg, those animal clips are just simply hilarious that I just couldn’t contain myself and I certainly got some suspicious ‘Mummy, I think you’re mad’ looks from Arianna. But while I was watching the show and she was lying on the tables, happily, I was ‘scratching’ her gently on the chest, her arms….practically all over la. She didn’t feel ticklish but I think she enjoyed it as she was calm. And I did this for like the whole lenght of the show and I didn’t feel the hour pass by. And since it was close to 2 hours since she was up, I carried her and tucked her in, and praise God….she went to sleep and I was free to watch Doc Martin.
What’s really funny is that she could lie on the table for a long period of time but when we put her in the rocker or on the gym mat which is on the floor to lie down, she screams the house down. Very bizarre this little cheeky chops of mine….I don’t know what it is she likes about that table but I swear she was like this since she came home from hospital. She used to look out the window and stare at the pool since the pool is just out there, sadly its totally out of reach. But now, she just likes lying down there. It’s not too bad for us, it’s just that it’s on the table and I know you shouldn’t leave bubs to lie alone there but with Arianna, it’s really VERY possible. I kid you not. She will not move an inch while she’s on the table but that doesn’t mean I just leave her there unattended la.

The lump of grump
Anyways, with all this teething and all that, I’ve decided to stop solids for awhile and start back in a week or so just to give her a breather. Plus she’s got her 6 month vaccinations on Monday. Omg….I so hate that.
I bet she already recognises the place and not to mention the doctor!
