Kecik @ 27 weeks
As promised, this is the belly pix which I was suppose to take a week ago. This is us at 27 weeks and growing….it’s beginning to show!! *grin*

That’s one of the maternity dresses Grandma Rosie* made for me.
You know, I had a horrid Sunday…..woke up at about 8.30am and was hungry but since it was Sunday, I wanted to sleep in so I kind of ignored my hunger until about 8.45am before I really couldn’t take it anymore. So I woke up, got dressed and washed up for brekkie. By then I already had slight cramps. I then had a glass of milk and some cake from the day before
But the gastric cramps were getting worst. I felt this pulling and twisting sensation on the upper part of my abdomen, the stomach area every now and then. It went on for ages and I pretty much spent the whole day lying in bed and drinking glass after glass of milk. It came up to a point when Mum asked me if I was in labour. How the heck would I know?? At one point, it did cross my mind and I kinda freaked out….but I thought, ‘No way man!’
Towards the end of the day, it was much, much better…but I didn’t eat anything too heavy. Just had porridge for dinner and went to bed early. The funny thing is that when I’m lying down on my left side, no cramps happen. But the minute I get up…..it hits me real bad…but it subsides after a few minutes….then it come off and on.
Could it be Braxton Hicks?? Am I suppose to be experiencing this now?? I just thought of it after checking out my countdown timer. Thing is, I even had a bad tummy which I blame that stupid cake for…. I was Queen of the Throne for at least twice that day.
And today, it’s almost all gone but the cramps still come back…but VERY seldom compared to Sunday…..now I’m just wondering is this like a sample of what labour is like?? If so…….O M G…..
*Grandma Rosie is my Mum and Grandma Kathleen is Ted’s mum.

It does sound like Braxton Hicks mainly because those false contractions can stop if you change positions, while real contractions won’t stop no matter what you do lol. And real contractions got closer and closer together and did feel like cramps too at first, but later just more intense and more painful. Gosh, I hope your labour doesn’t start at 27wks!

May 29th, 2007 at 5:39 amNo .. doesn’t sound like braxton hicks yvy..! i think maybe you had bad food..??
May 30th, 2007 at 12:23 pmNah, I doubt it was Braxton-Hicks..you’re too early to have that. I think it is over-hunger. I used to have that esp during my gestational diabetes days. No fun at all.
May 30th, 2007 at 1:55 pmI think you are gastric pain lar, I used to have that kind of situation before….
May 30th, 2007 at 2:20 pmanother vote for its not braxton hicks. it sounds more like round ligament pain. your uterus is stretching again to accomodate the baby. braxton hicks didnt hit me till about 32 weeks, but then again not too women are the same. braxton hicks is more like tightening of the belly but it dont hurt, if it hurts like wanna die and you hv more than 6 in think in a row, call your doctor. love the new template! with first babies, they dont tend to come earlier but later, but then again pregnancy is so different with any women.
May 31st, 2007 at 1:24 amLove your blog!
Reminds me of why I started my own baby blog… it’s a pleasure to jot down everything about the arrival of the baby, isn’t it?
And I too think that this does not sound like BraxtonHicks… BH isn’t supposed to hurt. Just a bit crampy.
Maybe it was just your tummy protesting over your delay in getting it filled? At the risk of sounding like a complete makcik… Always keep your belly filled with good food and enough water.
Hope you have a great pregnancy.
