A few weeks and growing

January 3rd, 2007 · 10 Comments

I’m confused and one minute I’m told that I was 8 weeks along and now, I think I was told that I was only 6 weeks. So yes, confused I am but I’ve been told more than once that my due date will be 5 August 07 but I’ve so been told that it could be 22 August 07. With that in mind, I think I can safely say that this will either be a late July baby, or an early August baby. More likely to be an August baby by any chance. wink

According to the books and what my tiny baby measure at the top says, Kecik* [I've decided to nickname my little one Kecik.] should be approximately 3g and 1 inch long. I find this experience all rather exciting but at the same time insecure. Happy I am but being a freak when it comes to being financial independent, I can sometimes go OTT. Anyway, I’m gonna have to leave my worries behind and not stress myself out coz I’m very sure the Lord has plans for us. And although it seems like it’s taking awhile for me to see what His plans are for us, I know that He will certainly provide us adequately and sufficiently. No doubt about that. Now, on to more about what’s been happening to me.

I’m suppose to be experiencing morning sickness and ‘enjoying the vomiting’ as some of my rather compassionate friends have reminded me [You know who you are, Rozzy!! grin ] but to my pleasant and sweet surprise, the sickness have been kept at bay. I am happy none the less! Puking my guts out has been one of my worries since we found out that I was pregnant, and although I have not officially puked my guts out, the closes I got to feeling nauseous was in the first few early weeks. But that was way before we found out about this bundle of joy. And that I got over in about 2 weeks or so and in actual fact, it hardly ever happened. That said, I’m certainly keeping my fingers and toes crossed that I will not get into the habit of the morning sickness. If possible, the fathers should bear such things after all, the mother is already doing most of the work, no? grin

Other than that, [sorry to get way bit descriptive here], my boobs have been rather sensitive and hurting, can’t really say if they have swollen or but I do expect them to grow a fair bit. As Kecik said, let’s give Pamela Anderson a run for her money!! Muuuaaaahahahaha! No other physical changes have happened but MIL has already offered me a bunch of maternity wear of the 70s. wink Damn I’m gonna bring back the fashion and rainbow colors, just you wait and see!! O, did I also mentioned that she has indeed kept herself busy and has managed to knit many baby clothes which are so adorable, herself?? That woman is such a talent I tells ya, she’s already good in cooking and now this??? Wow….*jaw drops* I’m just in awe now.

Eating habits : No cravings in particular at the moment, just random and on the spot wants. Eg. We’ll be walking pass McD’s and suddenly, I feel like some French Fries. Or we’ll be watching tv and some dish that looks good and reminds me of Indian food and I’ll get that need to eat Indian food. So it’s been more of an instant need than a craving. So far, nothing crazy or out of this world at midnight yet. grin [Ted must be thanking his lucky stars!] I have, however, been increasing my diet with lots of veggies and fruits, am totally off coffee and have an occasional sip of Coke, and totally off alcohol, which is so tragic. But funny enough, I’ve not had that urge to down my usual Vodka lime and the last time I had a Vodka [some 3 weeks ago], I didn’t quite like it and found it hard to swallow. That should have been a clear sign that something was definitely wrong with me but I didn’t quite notice it. Bizarre.

There’s a lot more that I would like to talk about foods as it has since become my obsession and I’ve just realised it. Heh. grin O, by the way, did you know that my Little Cozy Corner has won a Food Blog award?? A big thank you to Ashish. wink If you’re surprised, I’m more surprised!! smile Ted’s not over the moon about it but heck, I won an award and damn it, who cares even if it was a Food Blog award, I got it anyway! wink More thought about those pantang larangs [do's and dont's] in my next post.

*Kecik is a local Malaysian lingo for small. The actually word is ‘kecil’. I used to call babies of family and close friends ‘kecik’ as a sign of familiarity and just because I think it’s cute and has a warm and homey feeling to it. grin

    cute blog!

morning sickness, you may not get it, you may get it. mine hit me at 7 weeks and hit me harder for the next 4 weeks but it was not morning sickness. mine was more evening sickness and on some days, all day sickness. funny cause prior to finding out i was preggers i was going crazy with caesar salad and i dont even like veggies.

frank did a couple of midnight run to McD weeks to follow..hehe. as for the how many weeks u r, dont worry about it. it says u r about 9 weeks but the babe is only at 7 weeks gestation cause the babe is always behind 2 weeks. so when you deliver at 40 weeks, the baby is actually 38 weeks gestation..confusing but most babies dont go on due date anyways. i think since its your first and if you were a healthy full term baby, you would probably deliver a few days after your due date.

hey congrats again, so exciting…now makes me want to have another one!
