“Don’t touch Daddy’s stuff!”

That was the line that Arianna continuously repeated to KR while they BOTH (note : BOTH) pretty much re-arranged Ted’s CD collection. For once they were both united in their task and there was no hair pulling or whacking going on between them. Otherwise, one fella will be snatching stuff away from the other and all hell breaks loose! Ahhh….the joys of my daily life! :P

I can’t wait to tell Ted about this episode and I really regretted not getting off my butt and recording it on the cam for him. I know he’ll be busy checking out some POS systems thingy for his friend who is planning on setting up some business in the near future. I found it really funny how ‘disciplined’ Arianna is and what a very reliable rule book Arianna is but she’s all talk, I tell you!! She can tell you what to do and what not to do but don’t expect her to follow them of course. *lol* She can be quite the cheeky monkey when she wants to but at the same time, when she turns on her brat mode – I’m just about ready to ship her off to the convent!

Tis all part and parcel of enjoying the joys of parenthood I guess….*sigh*

Vain pot(s) in the making!

It’s no surprise that kids will copy what you do hence, we are very careful with what we say and do in front of them. One incident that really made it clear that although they may be toddlers, they are aware of what they are watching was when I had the tv on watching SVU and there was this shooting scene followed by a car explosion.

Arianna was still up at that time (it was approximately 8.30pm and the kids are normally in bed by 8pm or at least I try to get them in bed by 8pm) and when she saw that, she went, “O, poor car!! Car ouchies..!! Poor car…poor car!”. She was clearly distressed about it and Ted told me to switch the tv off which I promptly did. She repeated it a couple of times but soon after it was forgotten and since then, no more tv after 8pm.

Now with KR in that copying stage as well, she’s like Arianna’s shadow! Whenever we are getting ready to go out and I slap on some makeup (I’m super quick by the way – lipstick and comb hair and we’re outta here!), Arianna comes running to me shouting, “Red, red please, Mummy!” referring to lipstick of course and I’d have to pretend to put some on for her and trailing behind comes KR, and with arm outstretched, “Pease…pease!”. *lol* It’s SO funny and cute!! And when I bend down to pretend, she ‘O’s her mouth just like how we do it when we’re putting out lipstick on, simply hilarious!!

I tell you, I think Arianna is turning into a vain pot. If she’s all dressed up and ready to go out, she’s ever waiting to be asked to check herself out in the mirror and if you tell her she’s pretty, o my…the smile on her face – worth a million bucks or more! ;)

If she’s got a new dress on, humph…..twirl and twirl and twirl the whole time!! Won’t even take it off for me to wash….I won’t be surprise that KR will soon follow her footstep too. They may fight and try to kill each other but it’s so noticeable that they miss each others company when the other is not around.

Can’t live with, can’t live without…. ;)

My fashionista babes

Recently, Sis’s friend paid us a visit and surprisingly the girls took to him very well, and really way beyond my expectations! I’m actually quite glad that they like him coz he’s been our extremely realiable male nanny while he was here on holiday. He loves the girls to bits and is most happy spending time with them and keeping them company. Given the option, he’d rather stay home and play with the kids instead of going out. I reckon he’d make an excellent dad! :) He’s really good with the girls and apparently he loves kids, and kids love him in return. What more could a potential wife ask for? ;)

Anyway, here are some shots of the girls with him :

Arianna with Uncle Mo
Arianna and Uncle Mo…she never fails to mention his name every night during her night prayers. :)

It’s a real pity we don’t have any patio cushions here in Kulim like the ones we have back in my ILs place coz I’m sure the girls would love to spend a nice summers day out on the patio with Uncle Mo.

A sweet moment with KR…love this candid shot.

After all, he gives the best horsey rides and he’s got the best goatee to pull on too! *lol* Plus he’s so obliging, the girls really have him wrapped around their little fingers. They really bully him to the max but he still loves them all the same. ;)

So similar!

We’ve just got back from KL on Thursday and for most of the time while we were there, things were good until Wednesday/Thursday. Everyone was down with the bug!! Thanks to me mainly… >.< But more details coming up soon, with pix to boot too! :)

This post is actually to show you how similar my girls *can* be although they are 2 very different persons - each has their own personality and well, who'd want 2 same type of child anyway? :P

Check out these shots :

One of my fav pix of Arianna, here at approximately 8months old on her first trip to Malaysia. We were at Parkroyal, Penang.

This is KR at 16months on our recent KL trip. This is her first time to Malaysia. We were at Impiana KLCC Hotel.

I love taking shots like these, I really hope that I’ll be able to get one of J-Roc when the time comes. :)

Imelda Marcos-es in the making

The girls are spoilt when it comes to shoes. Both Nanna and Godma loves buying them shoes. Today, we went out shopping at Landmark (the newest & biggest shopping complex in Kulim) and needless to say, we ended up buying – SHOES. :) Yup…it won’t be long before they will be label as following in the footsteps of the shoe queen, Imelda Marcos (She’s said to have 3000 pairs of shoes!!!!)

I am very happy with the loot we came back with because it’s nice to see *this* sort of kids shoes coming back into fashion. I’m absolutely against kids wearing high heels like that Suri Cruise (Katie Holmes should be shot!) and that’s all the stores these days seem to stock up on. I mean, why would anyone in their right mind want their little girl to grow up before their time? As it is, they are already shooting up like weeds and allowing them to wear shoes with heels is merely robbing them further of their childhood! That’s just absolutely, downright WRONG!! If you’re of those parents buying those heeled AND slippery shoes, you ought to step back and reflect on why you’re doing it…..after all you have the last say in what your kids wear/put on.

In my most humble opinion, even women shouldn’t be wearing very high heels because it does a lot of harm to your body especially your back and feet/calves. But I know that most women would rather sacrifice health for outer beauty and that’s just a sad fact in reality. Where would you be without health? You can kiss all your shoes good bye then…..

Anyway, enough ranting from a pregnant woman who happens to also be a mum of 2 girls. :P On with shots of the loot :

Mini Imelda Marcos-es
We bought 4 pairs, 2 for each girl…have to be fair right? :) It was added blessing that each pair was RM10 off. :D

Mini Imelda Marcos-es
THE shoes…pink ones on the left bought by Godma and the rest Nanna bought today. Thank you Nanna & Godma!! You’re the best….. ((Hugs))

We purposely bought various sizes so that it will last for awhile and if you’re wondering what KR is doing with a pair of rather boyish shoes….well, we reckon it would be something that will be re-used in no time! ;)

My dancing queens

Not too long ago I mentioned about going pubbing and it reminded me of my younger days where I used to club a fair bit. :P I was young, I was in college…what else would I be doing other than going to college right? ;) I reckon Arianna’s got that bit of me – the love for dancing and grooving. She started really young and if you look hard enough, I reckon you’ll find vids of her dancing from a young age. I can’t remember where they are right this moment, but it’s definitely in here somewhere.

I didn’t think KR liked grooving until we found out what her Achilles heel (music related) was!! :P It’s Michael Franti’s Say Hey (I love you). That kid’s got taste!! And needless to say, Arianna moves to any sort of catchy music…in fact, I managed to get them on cam!! :P

*LOL* KR is totally INTO it at some parts. It’s hilarious!! That child is really funny….

I’m really excited to know what J-Roc is going to be like. I know for sure that no one child is the same so it is kind of exciting but at the same time daunting thinking what sort of baby he is going to turn out to be!! Being the first (and only) boy (Ted, please take note!) in our immediate family, he hasn’t much clothes just yet. I can’t use most of the clothes that Arianna or KR has coz they are a wee bit too girly although I have tried most times to make it gender neutral for such occasions. So while I still can, I’ve been taking notes on what sort of baby clothes I”d like to make for him. I love to dress babies up in onesies coz it’s SO easy so I think I’ll start with that. For this reason only, I am looking forward to going home and checking out my latest fabric stash….and trust me, I think it’s going to be one helluva scary haul!!! :P

Precious moments

It didn’t take long for me to notice that Arianna is not as loving to KR as some older siblings are towards their younger siblings. In fact, I am constantly jealous of parents who have loving children because it’s so nice to see!! But *touch wood* and praise God, things are getting better….slowly.

Both girls hardly play nice with each other BUT when they do, it is such a lovely sight and I wish those moment would last forever or better yet, to happen more often. I reckon this is because Arianna is getting older and able to understand more and also, so is KR where she is more independant than she used to be. At one time, KR would let Arianna walk all over her and allow toys to be snatched away from her (this is a VERY common thing that happens at our home) but not these days though.

Recently, KR has managed to stand her ground or at least to fight back and hold on to toys that she wants to play with and not give in so easily. While I am not fond of allowing the girls to fight over toys, I reckon I should let them sort things out themselves and I try not to interfere unless things start to get nasty. More often than not, KR loses the fight but I reckon it has made her more determine and more independant that way.

These are some shots which are priceless to me…I love to see them playing nicely. It’s such a lovely change!

Loving sisters
One of my fav pix! This is our routine going to bed – everyone gets a biiiiiiiiig hug! :D

Playing behind ‘bars’. :P

I wonder how it will be like when our little man comes along….will they play nice with him? Or will they bully him? Or will KR team up with him and bully Arianna instead?? *lol* It remains to be seen. :P On a totally different note, I just realised that I will be missing the most of winter and only get to experience the end of winter when we get home in August! YAY!!! I love spring so I am so looking forward to it and to have bub just before summer is excellent too coz it will give us some to to adjust to the upcoming heat. *blek!* Although I am from Malaysia, I can’t stand Aussie summers…they are just too freaking hot!! Even with our air cooler and stand fan, the heat is most of the time unbearable for me. Friends have suggested me to get one of those Minka Aire fans but I’m not really into fancy fans plus the fact that our unit is so simple and plain that this fan would look out of place. I will have to get Ted to fix that air con he’s been talking about….time to step up, Daddy-doo!! :P

SO cunning!

I’ve got a new definition for the word cunning….a toddler version of it. And it happened today.

The girls were playing in the hall this morning. Arianna was running around with a toy in her hand and KR was in the walker holding another toy.

Suddenly, Arianna decided that she wanted KR’s toy and asked for it. Not surprising, KR out-rightly said (out loud), ‘No!’. This is her fav word at the moment. And I’ve told Arianna many times to ask KR nicely and not just grab so when asking nicely (Please, Kathleen-Rose….) didn’t quite work, she decided to improvise….

She grabbed the nearest thing she could see which happened to be Ted’s house slippers and gave one side to KR and took the toy off KR. KR of course in her blurness, didn’t quite know what to make of it but since she had something new in hand, she was quite happy. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, or scold Arianna. In fact, I did neither….just took the slipper off KR and gave her something else to play with.

While it was rather bad of Arianna to do such a thing, she does get the idea that if you take a ‘toy’ off KR, then you must give her something else to play with. Sadly, a slipper or the floor rug will NOT do, my dear….. *shakes head* Talk about a fair trade…..

Poking the pig in the basket?

Yes please Mum!! *lol* This is what the girls get up to when they are in a good and loving mood :

It’s funny how the simplest of toys, in this case, a basket that I store their toys in, turns out to be the one thing that kept them both amused for quite some time. This is a very rare occasion as the girls don’t really play well together. I’m not sure why but when they do play nice, they have a ball. Otherwise, it’s a cat fight the whole day! =.=

On another note, it’s been almost a month (crikey!) since we’ve been here and I must say that I am missing the man a lot. Yes, although it is great to be home and hang out with Mum, spending quality time with her – I am still missing Ted lots. We were chatting online a couple of days ago and he was rather cheeky telling me that he bought me a gift which he thought would be most appropriate for me. I was touched….for a moment until he decided to tell me what it was! :/ Apparently he thought it was funny to get me some plus size lingerie since I am in *this* condition. Ha Ha…very funny, my love.

I will get you back for this……I won’t let you off that easy. :P

This is how u do it

Sometimes, Arianna tends to be a little too rough and bullies little KR. But when she’s nice to KR, she’s really, really nice and it’s really cute to see them together. Here is one such precious moment :

This is how you do it....
This is how you do it….

When I first let Arianna play the organ she liked it, it made noises and she could bang it with all her might and we didn’t say anything. *lol* It’s a rather rotten instrument and really, it didn’t hurt plus it was nice watching her have fun. Although she does share, most times she is the taker instead of the giver.

Copy cat in action
In this case, she actually let KR play along-side with her which was a really nice change. This does not happen often!

The girls are really growing up fast. I’m surprised by KR’s vocab because she is definitely picking up words so much faster and clearer than Arianna. Although she doesn’t talk much and is on a rather quiet side, she is a very observant baby. I reckon she is taking in lessons from Arianna – what not to do so that Mummy doesn’t go all crazy and start screaming like a banshee! *lol*

Looking at things, I reckon #2 & #3 will most likely gang up on Arianna once they are big enough. I wonder how Arianna is going to handle them. *lol* She’s definitely going to have her hands full. ;)
