Too good to be true

It was just like any other day…..3 kids playing in the hall while Mummy was busy in the kitchen cooking lunch.

There was however, a minor difference in that everyone was happy. No one screaming ‘he/she pulled my hair’, or snatching toys, pushing, shoving, scratching, poking….there was no kiddy violence or tears happening which is somewhat unusual in this household.

I was somewhat happy to hear happy laughter and giggling…a mother could not ask for more : happy children, right? But I knew at the back of my mind that that things were just too good to be true and I should trust my instincts next time because when I finally realised that things may not be as “happy” as I thought…..I was greeted with this.

When all was happy....
Kids powdered from head to toe and on the carpet. I’m pretty sure the master mind is Arianna but the one got actually got the powder out and got the show on the road was KR.

Willing victim
And of course, we have a willing victim…totally oblivious that his sisters have turned him into a clown. Then again, he is a very funny little fella. :P

While I thought that I could have committed at least one murder, I wasn’t upset. I think I have just resigned to my fate….more like just given up really. All I did was take those pix, took out my mini vacumn and scared the daylights out of Arianna coz she hates loud noises and that mini vacumn is LOUD, and went back to my cooking.

Not sure what I felt or had going through my head but at least I wasnt pissed at the kids. Now, looking back, it was actually quite funny. :P

Time to crack me brains

It’s kind of hard to believe that January just zipped past and we’re already into the second month of 2012. For me, it’s pretty much the same day in, day out. While I am enjoying my time as a SAHM, sometimes I do miss my working life. But given the choice, I still prefer to be a SAHM! :P One things for sure, it gives me more time to spend with the kids but also planning loads of things.

For me, plannings all start in February as this is the month when our family birthday starts, and leading the way is my FIL’s birthday which is on 13/2, followed by Valentine’s Day and then Ted’s birthday. So I’ve been shopping online loads to get my pressies for him. And so far, I’ve gotten ONE, still pending another item coz I’m low on funds at the moment. That said, I might check out some other possible top gifts choices that my friends have recommended me. Might find something better than what I already have in mind! :)

Spending time with Godma

So how does one spend more time with Arianna? Well, it is no surprise the kids these days are very much interested in anything electronic. Needless to say, SOMEONE got very cosy with Godma coz she got herself a new phone – Samsung Galaxy.

As you can see, the Angry Bird bug has caught on to the people who had no idea what it was to begin with.

Me, I tried it a couple of times and found no appeal at all. I’m either boring or just plain old! lol :P

Enter the DRAGON!

Chinese-New-Year-of-the-Dragon
Gong Xi Fa Cai to all my Chinese friends!

This year being the (water) dragon year….actually means nothing to me. :P I dont really read about what the dragon year holds for me as a horse (according to the Chinese zodiac) because I think that would be somewhat similar to fortune telling which I am not a believer of. That said, what I do look forward to (as I did when 2012 really happened on 1/1/2012) is that I take on more challenges be it where sewing/knitting is concerned, definitely tackle this whole car license issue (yet again – it was my 2010 resolution to actually GET a license then) and if I did, I’d have my full license by now!! *slaps forehead*

I am also looking forward to Mum coming out here at the end of Feb to celebrate her sister’s birthday which happens to fall on 29/2 – leap year baby! :P So, all in all….I do hope that 2012 will be better than 2011 – I do foresee some major decisions that has to be made and I’m just hoping that whatever the outcome may be, it will be for the best.

Once, again….HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR, WISHING YOU HEALTH, WEALTH & PROSPERITY!

My Wii Family

Wii Family
Meet my Wii family. :P

Yes, apparently we are the proud new owners of a Mario Kart Wii Bundle that came with Wii Sports. ^.^ It was as a total surprise to me, more so when you’re not expecting anything. So shocked was I that I was rendered speechless. Lol And it is not often that I am speechless. Ted was really antsy about this parcel and he refused to tell me what it was. Such a cute fella he is!! He did tell me that it was partly mine and I just couldnt figure out what it could possibly be!

While I find that I am not too into Mario (never was to begin with), I am really enjoying the Wii Sport especially Boxing. Man, I think I’ll be having some muscles on me by the time I’m done with it. lol I think it’s an excellent way to release some stress too. (Bash! Bash! Bash! Whack! Whack! Whack!) Needless to say that I now have my eyes on getting a Wii Fit but a friend told me that Wii Active is better if one is more serious about exercising and all. But Zumba is apparently the best – and if I could get it, I would! All that dancing….sure sounds fun to me!

As for the kids, the girls are slowly getting the hang of it but surprisingly not as interested as I thought they would be. I actually thought they’d jump at the idea of playing the games but they rather watch us play! lol I think its frustrating not able to handle the handset well so I hope that in time, when they do get the hang of it, they will enjoy it. We had the girls play bowling and KR seemed to have enjoyed it more than Arianna. Arianna, like me had fun boxing though! lol :P

Anyhoo, Ted’s going down to the shops later to get anothe handset and find out more about Wii Fit/Active and get some new games too. What can I say, the man is mad! lol Now that I think about it, aside from FB, we now have Wii….with my sewing and knitting AND household chores (What housework??), 24 hours a day really doesnt seem enough at all!!! >.<

The face of pride

DSCN1261
Yup, there is it. Full of pride and happiness at the coloring she did and made me stick on the wall. lol

You can’t really blame her. Arianna is at the age where she gets most things and mind you, her understanding about things that go about around can really surprise you. She is a major chatterbox and I reckon she could be an excellent talkshow host!

But the problem with this need to constantly color is that I run out of things for her to color. Did I ever tell you that we have our very own Picasso at home? Yup, KR is our little Picasso and she expresses herself by drawing on the walls and floor. I wouldnt be surprised if Mum were to tell me that I owe her some big time 2012 pottery barn coupons to replace whatever KR has destroyed. I tells ya, that little girl may be little, but that mind of hers. Never stops clicking!

Anyway, because of her “talent”, I found myself washing the crayon off the walls and mind you, it is NOT easy at all because of the grove patterns that Mum got done on her walls. At least I now know that I will never, ever get that type of walls. Ever!

Planning early this time

Last year, we wanted to have a birthday party for KR. But poor girls birthday fell on the same week at Mother’s Day and I totally forgot about it. So she missed out – and I feel terrible about it. This year, I’m going to start planning early. I can assure you that Ted will not be pleased about it. While I like to organize and plan things early, he has this habit about leaving things to the last minute. And while things do get done, it is not often and all because we waited to the last minute.

Anyway, I’m thinking that we might just have it at a local playland to save me the trouble of cooking up dishes and having it at home. Yes, some might think me a bad mum but I honestly dislike organizing parties – what more COOK! Mum will surely think she brought home the wrong baby coz both sis AND mum love cooking and get super excited about having parties at home. I must have missed out this gene somewhere along the line.

Anyhoo, just to make things more kid friendly aside from the fact the the party is at a playground, sis came across something interesting and told me quite bluntly – get your cake pops now! Dont wait till the last minute….so I’m off to check out what they offer and see if there is anything that KR would like. I’m quite looking forward to this party coz…heh, I dont have to do anything at all. Heh. ^.^
