Gotta love a 1-kid day!

I meant to blog about this and I totally forgot about it until now!! lol So busy with the kids, sewing and all…my weekend totally flew by. For the first time in a LONG time, I had the chance once again to reminisce what it was like having only to care for 1 child, at least for 1/2 a day. Yup, Ted took the girls over to MIL’s over the weekend (Saturday) coz I was still recovering from my cough and I didn’t want to infect Dad.

Instead, I stayed home with my son. And while I thought I would have a lot of time to do things around the house and perhaps get some pattern tracing done, I manage to do almost none of the above! It truly surprised me that I didn’t have time for much really. MIL thought I would have spent my ‘day off’ with my feet up but it was the total opposite! I actually had a chance to see the place neat and tidy for longer than 15mins which is a bonus for me. Aside from that, I really didn’t touch my sewing at all and I made sure I pointed it out to Ted in case he thought I was sitting around doing nothing.

It was really nice having to just worry about one child, sometimes I’m rather envious with parents who only have one kid. I miss the peace and quiet. It reminded me of the times after I had the kids at the hospital and while most mums were quick to dump their babies at the nursery, I never did it with the kids deliberately. With Brandon, they took him away coz he wasn’t settling and I was really tired and I so needed that 2 hours of sleep. Sounds like just awhile but it was a luxury! Nurses are god-sent despite what some people may say – these are the people who’ve had a bad experience but we shouldn’t let one apple spoil the lot.

Wearing metrouniforms hospital scrubs or any type of nurses scrub is not just about making sure patients take their meds at the right time. It’s more about caring and looking after those who can’t do it themselves. IMO, nurses know just as much as doctors do except that they dont have a title in front of their name. Nurses….life in the hospital would be a nightmare without them!
