Within the last past few weeks, I’ve gotten 2 emails informing me about baby competitions. They are the Bonds and Parenting Australia baby photo competitions. While I would love to send in shots of our kids, I don’t have many which are competition worthy and on top of that, the kids will start to fool around the moment I pick up my camera. So trying to get a decent shot of them is close to impossible. Needless to say that if we did win the competition, they would have to pick another winner coz if KR won….it would be impossible to take a proper studio shot of her because she doesn’t deal well at all with strange places and bright flashes. Our Christmas photo with Santa was a classic example – Ted had to hold her!
Anyway, Ted was telling me about how the FB page for Bonds crashed the moment they opened it for voting. And apparently some of the mums in there were being very catty when someone of the Asian descent had sent in a pix of their kid. Ted told me that one of the response to that pix was, “This competition is for Bond’s Australia, not Bonds Asia”…and I’m think how rude is that??? I havent seen the response myself but honestly people….talk about being a role model for your kid! Yes, it is a big deal if your kid gets picked and his/her photo is pasted on their branded promotional products, but stooping to that level? Come on….I’ll have to check it out myself I think. Ted said, we should enter and if we win, I should go up and receive the prize and yell, “In your face!”. LOL
That’s funny…..
