We are family

The girls are growing up so fast. I can’t believe that Arianna is already almost 2.5 yrs old and KR is turning 10 months soon. Where did the time go? And for all I know, soon I’ll be facing the horrid raging hormonal teenage years and [touch wood] no adult acne please! >.<

Arianna is into singing and dancing, and copying the people on Playschool and she just loves watching that program. Because they are so animated which they should be, she gets so into it sometimes, it’s just hilarious! I really should record her singing to the opening tune….LOL Thinking about it is cracking me up. She can’t really say the words but she can sing along and somehow the sound that comes from her, SOUNDS like the words, IYKWIM.

And because I watch it often enough, I can pretty much sing some of those songs to her and she’s gladly sing along and make me continuously repeat that song until I get super sick of it! How can you not sing that song [whatever it is] if she looks at you with these pitiful large brown, puppy eyes and keeps saying, “Prease Mum…Prease…..”?? So I give in but there are times, I just ignore her. *lol* SO bad me! Also, she’s now very much into figurines and role playing as well although her love for books has not faded. Ted’s been getting her stuff from the Little People collection and the most recent one is some pet saloon complete with hair dryer as well as a tub to bath the dog & cat in. And you should see her, carry on about it. “Sail….sail….” as she pretends the dog, cat and groomer who gets crammed into the bathtub all together, on a boat sailing. So cute! She’s one funny sausage. And quote of the day is, “Baby down….poor Packers!”.
This simply refers to KR falling down but because we had nicknamed KR Pacman when she was still in the womb, the name got stuck and every now and then, we’d call KR that. So somehow, Arianna had picked that up and now, KR is Packers. :P Not too sure it’s a good thing though.
I’ve tried getting her to call KR by her full name but you can’t blame the kid for not even trying since it’s so long!

As for KR, we’re still waiting for that ONE tooth to completely pop out! :P I can barely see a second one by the side but it’s just taking ages for that one to totally come out. Talk about being slow! I thought Arianna was slow in the dental department, but KR definitely takes the cake! She’s still into mashed and pureed stuff but not too smooth. I can’t imagine trying to give her something to chew on when she’s got nothing to use. Arianna used to use her 2 front teeth to eat cheese sticks but that might have to wait with KR. She gets so frustrated with the rusk that I give her every now and then coz they don’t melt or soften fast enough and she doesn’t have to patient to keep on sucking and ‘chewing’. Little bugger…

She hasn’t really started crawling either. She spends a lot of time seated upright coz we normally leave that way or standing up in her stationary walker. She’s fallen over a couple of times on her face so I think the falls are preventing her from even trying. I tend to put her on her tummy when we’re on the bed or at MIL’s coz the carpet is just so soft there and she’d try to move around but never bothers to try at home. However, she can quiet easily turn herself around 360 degrees at any time so I’m thinking that she’s going to be a bum scooter. But we’ll have to wait and see.

At her last weight in [sounds like Biggest Loser script!], she’s about 9.5kg. Not sure what’s that in baby weight but there are times I wished she could walk up the stairs! :P All in all, I’m still loving this baby stage. When they reach the toddler stage, they can sometimes be so matured. Sometimes I feel that I miss the baby in Arianna not that she isn’t one. There is some baby-ness still in her but it’s so different. Plus they are of 2 very different personalities. And KR is slowly becoming more vocal about her presence and she can definitely stand her own if you try and take something off her. She’ll let you know that she ain’t happy about it! I love that baby giggle and open-mouth laugh she has. It’s just so infectious. Lol I must remember to video that coz those moments are just so precious and with them growing up so fast, you just want to capture as much childhood that you can coz once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
