In Australia, mesothelioma many sufferers have sued the companies that they have worked for, which have caused them this cancer due to exposure to asbestos for a long period of time. And although it may be hard fighting against these giants, some have won the compensation which will help out with the medical expenses and later on, the family members who will have to go on without their long suffering loved ones. It may be a tough fight but with the right legal help, nothing is impossible.

Mother of 2?
Aye, this is what I am. And it’s quite obvious that with such a long absence its only because I can’t find the time to blog!!
For the quickest update ever, Kat and I are doing great. All she does is eat, sleep and poo. Who could ask for more right? And unlike Arianna who fed like clockwork every 2 hours night or day, Kat feeds more frequently during the day and gives me an average of 5 hours of sleep at night. I am a very happy Mummy.
More updates when and if I ever find the time!!
Toys for every child!
We are constantly on a look out for toy sales because toys can be really expensive and when there is a good sale, we go absolutely nuts and actually stock up for various occasions. This toy shopping spree that we do normally include buying toys for family members and friends for Christmas [even though it may only be July!] and their birthdays. I think it’s an absolutely great way of buying expensive toys for a fraction of the original price – what a great way to save money and keep the kids happy!!
The perfect gamblers getaway
Many people in my family love gambling and unlike them, I’m no risk taker hence I pulled out from a recently planned holiday. When a holiday is planned, gambling is always a part of their itinerary so it was no surprise when they told me that they were going to Las Vegas and will be making their main accomodation at the Sahara hotel. Apparently they recently had a multi-million dollar makeover! I can just imagine the sight – can’t wait to see the pictures!
The little poop machine
Who would have thought that so much poop could come from a tiny little thing???
That was my first thought when KR first pooped after her birth. For those who don’t know about it,, the first poop is close to black, more of a dark moss green called meconium. Anyway, for such a little thing and at that age, she really had a lot of poop coming from her. At one point, I was thinking that it wasn’t normal but then again, compared to Arianna, KR latched on quicker and has been feeding more frequently too. Hence, what goes in must come out so her stool turned the mustard-t color within 3 days!
Today, it would be a surprise if she didn’t leak at least once a day. Normally, it would leak like at least 2-3 times a day. Yesterday was the worst so far – she gave a loud fart and then I felt a stream of warmth down the front of my pants [I had her up on my chest after her feed] and I thought it was just pee. But when I took her off, OMG….I had poop all over me!!! *pengsan* This has NEVER EVER happened with Arianna so this is all so new to me.
Sometimes I think that KR is pooping too much but then again, since she is eating just as much, it must be normal la. It’s quite apparent that her insides are working so all in all, it must be ok. And because we are using disposable nappies [yes, yes, I know I'm not being kind to Mother Earth], we are quickly running short of it. It did cross my mind to use cloth nappies but aiyo, with the amount of poo coming out of her, I don’t think I larat to wash the nappies. Hence, disposable it will be.
1 way to get rid of acne
With both parents having had acne when they were young, both my sister and I had a very tough time growing up with acne prone skin. Although I had bad acne, I have since grown out of it but sadly my sister is still suffering and she has tried everything under the sun to keep the acne under control but so far many have failed her. I hope that after reading this review, she might give Acnetix a chance. Although it may not be a 100% guaranteed success, anything is worth a try.
You need all the leads you can get!
I once worked in an insurance company and I can honestly tell you that being an insurance agent back then was a very tough job because everyone is a possible prospect and if you want to get your commission then, you as the agent will need to spend a lot of time convincing your prospect to sign up with you. More often than not, the policy doesn’t come through and you would have wasted your time and effort. With people so concern about their health these days, getting health insurance leads is the best way to increase ones chances of getting sales and hence, getting a commission.
A horse riders haven
I love horses but am not really into equestrian events. However, my sister who also happens to be Arianna’s godmother, is nuts over horses and is a very good horse rider. For someone who started from scratch, she has now had experience in taking part in competitions and shows. And she’s only just started riding about a few years ago. Being an ardent horse rider, she is always on the look out for quality equestrian apparel because her jodhpurs are what normally wears out the quickest.
Like a flash of lighting : Kathleen-Rose Selena Petch
Today marks Kathleen-Rose’ [KR for the length of this post] 1 week out in the real world.
Truly, I can’t believe it myself! I’ve often used the term ‘time flies’ rather frequently and every one of those times, I meant it. With Kathleen-Rose, it is no different either…she’s already 1 week!!

A few hours later
I know most of you are looking forward to reading the birth story.
So here goes!
We were booked in to get induced on 28/4/2009 at 7.00am but by the time we arrived, we were slightly late, about 10 minutes lates actually. Not that it was a problem at all, really. When I met my midwife, I wasn’t happy at all as I thought that she didn’t look friendly at all but moments later, she returned definitely a different person – that caffeine shot must have given her back her heart! *lol* She turned out to be a Malaysian Chinese lady but I never got to ask her where she’s from.
I got checked out and as usual, nothing was happening but was very surprised that I was already 3-4cm dilated!! I was shocked really…apparently the raspberry tea leaf pills I was taking really does work so I totally recommend it Ira!! At 8am, Serena [my midwife] decided that it was time for breaking the waters and apparently the membrane was tough so she didn’t try to hard in case it hurt KR’s head and with her overdue, there was no water when she did rupture the membrane. She even stretched the cervix a little too, to help it along. But by 9am, still hardly any contrations at all – it was so mild! So the machine I absolutely hate the most was hooked up to me – blek! They had started the syntocin on level 20 which is low but the contraction kicked in so fast that she turned it down to 10. I was really taken aback at how fast that thing works!!
I told her when she came to turn it down that I’d like the gas to be ready just in case and it was barely 15 minutes later that I was taking it in like mad! So there I was bouncing on my gym ball and hanging on to my happy gas, riding each contraction the best I could. Despite the back rubs Ted was giving me, this wasn’t the same labour as Arianna’s which started at the back. I had it more under the belly, like really severe period pains. To make matters worst, I had not gone to the toilet before going to the hospital so I was very confused for most of the time, trying to differentiate whether it was me wanting to go to the toilet or wanting to push!! To think that I had time think think about this la…haha!
Ted tried to get me into the shower to help with labour management but I felt too heavy and lazy to get off the ball and I really didn’t feel like it. Plus the pain was already getting to me so I was in no hurry to move anywhere. By 10am, I really started to feel that I needed to push and told Ted to get the nurse and true enough, we were close to just that. As Serene checked me, a couple of contractions came and went and with each one, she help stretch the cervix more and omg, it was just beyond words! Thank goodness she was there to help me along coz if it was up to me, I’d be pushing away like mad and tore myself even worst!!
The contractions just came one on top of the other, I couldn’t control it! At one point, I was actually silent as she slowly helped me stretch my perineum to avoid any episiotomy. Guess I had the chance to experience a little bit of what Katie Homes went through when she had her silent birth [CRAZY PEOPLE!!]. My doc had not yet arrive and I could already feel the burning sensation, which meant that crowning was near and I was screaming, ‘Cut! Cut!’. But Serena said not yet and help me more with the stretching and trying to not push. I must say that this time around, I was SUPER vocal and I knew it too. *shy shy* All my body was doing was pushing and omg, it’s hard NOT to push when that is what the body wants to do! Finally the doc came and he was just next door with another woman who had just given birth too. And when he came, it was game on….and with perhaps 4-5 pushes, at 10.42am, out popped Kathleen-Rose Selena Petch.
As usual, all the pain just disappeared after she came out. Really amazing!
She didn’t really scream her lungs out at first breath but when she finally found her voice box, she went on and on and on for what I thought seemed ages! lol

First breath
I had a 1st degree tear and that took a couple of stitches to fix which was fine by me and it was thanks to Serena that I didn’t need an episiotomy although I wanted one. lol And I also didn’t bleed out much either. I think I lost some 150ml of blood and about 350ml of clots. Yea, that was my only issue really. I had tonnes of the clots due to the fast labour but other than that, all is good.
I was pretty much up and about within the next few hours and wasn’t really feeling tired at all. KR spent most of the day asleep and the other piece of good news is that although KR didn’t latch on right away, she is doing fine now. In fact, my milk is coming is so much that I’m SO full at the mo and I’m just waiting for her to wake up for most of the time! *lol*
Anyway, on to more pix….
