Chilling out with nature

What better way to enjoy the sunny weather of Sydney by getting some really nice teak outdoor furniture to compliment that huge vase which I house my palm on our brand new balcony. :) O yes…..nothing beats having a cuppa with my baby on a nice cool, yet sunny autumn day that doing just this and with teak furniture, one can never go wrong.

Teak furniture is best for outdoors due to it’s durability and high resistance to the changing weather and what with the crazy weather that Sydney gets on a daily basis no matter what season it is, teak would fit in and be the best choice for us. What more, both Ted and I really enjoy those natural woody colors. :D

Always travel safe

A lot of people love traveling and I have to admit that I am one of those but despite the love I have for traveling, I have to also add that traveling can also be a nightmare as much as it can be the time of your life. One of the most important things when traveling is to be safe not only being safe from harm but also keeping all your belongings safe as well.

It’s not easy to find reliable travel supplies unless you know where to look and at Tamperseal, I think I have just found THE perfect place.

There are a couple of things which I worry about and it is mainly the condition of my baggage when I check them in. I always make sure that they are strapped and locked so that no one can tamper with it and try to make me smuggle drugs or anything illegal into the country. THAT is my main concern and with security items like these, I think I can rest my restless heart. :)

Cacing kerawit!*

Cacing kerawit simply means hookworm and they tend to wriggle and squirm a great deal just like any other worm. And this particular behaviour is what I am facing now that I have my very own tiny cacing kerawit! Just because she has learned to turn over, she’s all gungho about it and mind you, she’s really proud of herself too.

She did a double turn the other day to reach a toy I had left far from her and boy, was she grinning from ear to ear – proud of her achievement. *lol* Very cute when she flashes me her 2 teeth grin and KNOWS that she’s done something pretty good. Such a cheeky vegemite! Anyway, ever since she’s turned into this tiny twister, I’ve welcomed the days where I have to literally wrestle her to get her nappy on. Thank goodness I can distract her with all the new toys that she’s gotten since she arrived.

I’ve got at least 10 rattles now. 3 hand-me-downs from my cousin and a box of new rattles from this Punjabi lady from whom we bought our new Punjabi suits for my sis’ convo last week. I don’t know what made her give us a new box of rattles but she did and it’s all good. So I now have rattles everywhere I look and they are always at arms length. All I need is to reach out and I can find out just within reach and all for the sake of convenience.

My sis has a fun time changing Arianna into her jammies the night before her convo because I normally get her to dress Arianna up whenever I can. Mummy needs a break sometimes, you know? And so, she had a nice time trying to get a nappy and clothes on a non-stop wriggly baby. It was SO funny watching my sis struggle with Arianna. I just wished I had recorded it because it so happens that the only way sis could get clothes on Arianna was when she was lying on her front so all the clothes had to be put on that way. Can you imagine the sight? Hilarious I tell you…. *lol*

Despite this achievement which I am certainly proud of, it also reminds me that my babyis growing up and I can’t help wish that time would slow down a little. Haiz…..she’s already 7 months, 2 weeks and 1 day today. So fast kan? Time…..please slow down!!!!

The perfect wedding gift

As much as I love weddings, the one thing that never fails to give me a major headache is finding and getting that perfect wedding gift. In my opinion, the best wedding gift is not something that you think is nice for the newly weds but instead, the perfect gift would be the one thing that they would need to help start of their new life together.

Since my cousin is getting married next month, I knew that to assume what she wanted as a gift would be silly on my part. Imagine getting 3 irons and 2 kettles after the wedding and numerous dinner sets!!! It’s just silly really….so I asked her and she thanked me for asking her because what she wanted was bedding. So now I know that the gift I’m getting her will be put to good use and that it will be much appreciated too.

Honestly speaking and from experience, one can never go wrong with bedding. :)

Travelling cheap

Did you notice that it longer takes you the price of an arm and leg to take a vacation to almost anywhere in the world? Did you also notice that more and more people are realizing their dreams by taking a vacation at places where they only visited in their dreams but now, they can be there in person, taking the sounds and sights in?

Well, being one who doesn’t want to miss out on this opportunity and who is always on the look for cheap fares to places that I’ve never been to, to stumble upon a chance at cheap flights is always something I look forward to. Ted and I have always loved traveling but because the flight fares itself are so expensive, we rarely have the chance to go anywhere but to Malaysia since there are a lot of  budget fares around these days. But now with even more choices of places to visit with such irresistible and unbelievable prices, I think many of our dreams will soon come true. :)

Back and recovering, and random pix

First up, thank you for all the well wishes. I am glad to announce that both Arianna and I are well on our way to recovery. In fact, I think we are both over it. Phew! The trip down south went uneventful except for another blow up of Arianna’s cold and only because we got caught in the rain. Damn, it was raining everyday we were there!! Horrible….hate it when my shoes get wet and soggy and sloppy. Anyways, there is A lot to tell but for now, here are some random shots of my cheeky baby.

She turned out to be a crowd distraction rather than attraction because she is always making eyes at the people around her! *lol* It’s quite funny especially when you’re in church and trying to concentrate on mass when all of a sudden you can here clicking noises and cackling coming from behind you, only to notice that your kid is smiling widely at the people behind. And what’s more intriguing is a nerdy Chinese man actually making faces at Arianna!!! I just couldn’t believe it…..and it was on our flight from Penang to JB when we boarded the plane and there was this Chinese guy looking all studious, nerdy, geeky and oh-so-serious and then when he saw Arianna, he went all gooey and started playing with her. I was in shock! *lol* So funny…..

A sign?

When Arianna started this, I got scared. It is said that when a baby does this, she/he is trying to tell the parents that they want a sibling. I say Arianna, you’ll just have to wait and enjoy all the attention you are getting now!! :P

Tapping into fiber optic cables

Remember those times when the bank counters would be off-line for hours on end? Well, perhaps in this time and age, with the help of fiber optic cables, things may change for the better.  I personally know that banks work in a network and everything and anything that runs in the banking system is all network.

If any organisation, not particularly a bank has slow connection and frequent downtime, then it’s time to install some fiber optic cables to enhance performance. The best thing would be to contact a specialist to help find and formulate a solution which best fits the said organisation. :)

What looks good and protects?

Bull bars!!

I may not be the best person to turn to for automobile advice but this much I can say – anything that looks good and has the potential to protect the front of your vehicle deserves to be fixed on as soon as possible!

I personally think that bull bars are great and I would certainly have them fixed on my car if only I could persuade Ted to do so. I’ll have to get him to check out this site because there is so many to choose from, I’m sure Ted can find something he likes and since he loves his car dearly, I’m pretty sure he won’t say no to this.

My poor baby!

Curses of all curses! My poor baby is down with the cold and she has now infected me as well. To make things even more bizarre, Ted is also not well back home in Sydney. So the WHOLE familia is sick. :(

I’m not sure what caused this bug to suddenly appear but it could either be when we were at my aunt’s and her granddaughter who was having the cough gave it her or when my mum was standing under a blasting air con waiting for me to come back – I had gone to buy some baby items and all. Anyway, first she had just the snizzles and clear, runny mucus [pardon the ickiness] but the following day, it turned more thick in consistency. By that time, I was more afraid of her temperature but praise God, it went away since i sponged her down a little.

Today, we are both down with a slight fever and Arianna with an almost healed cold and me, haiz…..full blown! My eyes are burning and I feel so sleepy but I don’t want to sleep just yet because it’s too early. Haiz….I really hope the fever goes away and that we are both better come Wednesday. We are hopping on Air Asia to JB for my Sis’ convo – she’s just completed her Masters and now eyeing a Phd. I think she’s nuts but hey, if she can pull it off – power to her! ;)

Well, I best get going – sore throats killing me! *blek*

Taking an important first step towards healing

When you see someone you love being torn apart physically and mentally by drugs and alcohol abuse, it hurts because they no longer seem familiar and you think that you’ve lost them for good. However, it is good to know that all is not lost when there are drug treatment centers and addiction treatment around which offer specified detox programs for anything that ails the one you love.

The first and hardest step is getting them to realize that they need help to get through this rough patch and the staff at Sunset Malibu is more than willing to take on this task and help them through with exclusive case and equipment.
